Let's set off together!

heoi3 seon3 hou6 saan1 faa1 jyun2 hou2 fong1 bin6
It's very convenient to get to Signal Hill Garden.

Take Exit K from East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station, and it's only a two-minute walk to the entrance.

The entrance to Signal Hill Garden is next to a refuse collection point, so even if you walk past the park entrance, you might not notice it.

jap6 zo2 gung1 jyun2 zi1 hau6, nei5 wui5 gin3 dou2 jau5 tiu4 ce4 lou6, dou1 gei2 ce4 haa6
Once you enter the park, you will see a sloping path which is quite steep.

ngo5 m4 hai6 seng4 jat6 zou6 wan6 dung6 ge3 jan4, so2 ji5 zau6 gok3 dak1 gei2 sok3 hei3 laak3
As someone who doesn't exercise regularly, I found it made me quite breathless.

Signal Hill, also known as Tai Pau Mai, was built over a hundred years ago to provide accurate time signals for citizens and ships.

ji4 gaa1 ne1, zau6 bei6 lit6 wai4 zo2 hai6 hoeng1 gong2 ge3 faat3 ding6 gu2 zik1
Today, it is designated as a declared monument of Hong Kong.

It's unexpected among so many high-rise buildings in Tsim Sha Tsui, to find a small hill with such a British-style old building on it, it's truly special.

hang4 dou3 bun3 lou6, nei5 wui5 gin3 dou2 jau5 loeng5 zo6 baak6 sik1 ping4 fong4, jau6 m4 zi1 hai6 mat1 je5 lei4, hou2 ci5 gei2 san4 bei3 gam2 wo4
Halfway up, you will see two white bungalows, I don't know what they are, they seem quite mysterious.

However, their white brick walls and sloping eaves have a unique style and standing in the corridor to take photos is simply unbeatable!

zung1 ji3 jing2 man4 cing1 soeng2 ge3 jan4 jat1 ding6 m4 ho2 ji5 co3 gwo3!
People who like to take artistic photos definitely shouldn't miss it!

Also, you sometimes see cats appearing here, so I gave them the name "Signal Cats".

gai3 zuk6 hoeng3 soeng5 hang4, zau6 wui5 gin3 dou2 lau4 gou1 sei3 cang4 ge3 seon3 hou6 taap3 laa3
Continue walking up, and you will see the four-storey Signal Tower.

jap6 dou3 heoi3 zi1 hau6 jau5, tiu4 hou2 zaak3 ge3 syun4 zyun2 lau4 tai1
After entering, there is a very narrow spiral staircase.

The width of the stairs only allows one person to pass, so be careful going up and down!

Once you reach the top, you can enjoy the scenery from different angles in four directions, with a bird's eye view of the surroundings.

mong6 zyu6 heoi3 jau5 syu6 lam4 ging2 tung4 maai4 bei6 di1 lau4 ze1 zo2 siu2 siu2 ge3 wai4 gong2 ging2
Looking out, there are views of the woodland and a Victoria Harbour view partially obscured by some buildings.

jyu4 gwo2 tin1 hei3 hou2, zung6 ho2 ji5 tai2 dou2 jat6 lok6 si4 go2 go3 haam4 daan2 wong2, hou2 long6 maan6 laa3!
If the weather is good, when the sun is going down you can even see the sunset on the mountain, it's very romantic!

So let's begin.

saa1 tau4 gok3 zi1 sin3 hai6 jat1 tiu4 jau4 fan2 leng5 lin4 zip3 saa1 tau4 gok3 ge3 lou6 sin3
The Sha Tau Kok Branch Line was a line connecting Fanling and Sha Tau Kok.

The line operated from 1912 to 1928.

This line only ran for 16 years before it ceased operation, and today I will talk about the history of this branch line.

gam2 ngo5 dei6 hoi1 ci2 laa1
So let's get started.

gau2 gwong2 tit3 lou6 guk6 dai6 jat1 tiu4 tung1 ce1 ge3 tit3 lou6 zau6 hai6 gau2 gwong2 tit3 lou6 jing1 dyun6, zik1 hai6 ji4 gaa1 gong2 ge3 dung1 tit3
The first railway opened by the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation was the Kowloon-Canton Railway (KCR) British Section, which is now the East Rail Line.

ni1 tiu4 tit3 lou6 hai2 jat1 gau2 jat1 ling4 nin4 tung1 ce1, ji4 zi2 hai6 gaak3 zo2 jat1 nin4, gau2 tit3 guk6 tung4 maai4 bak1 joek3 lei5 man4 fu2 zau6 gin3 ji5 hing1 gin3 jat1 tiu4 lou6 sin3
This railway opened in 1910, and only one year later, the KCR and the Government’s District Office North proposed the construction of another line.

bak1 joek3 lei5 man4 fu2 hai6 mat1 je5 ne1?
What was the District Office North?

ni1 go3 zau6 hai6 dong1 nin4 jing1 gwok3 gun2 zi6 hoeng1 gong2 ge3 zung1 sam1
It refers to the centre of British colonial administration in Hong Kong at that time.

dong1 nin4 zau6 jau5 bak1 joek3 tung4 maai4 naam4 joek3, ji4 bak1 joek3 zau6 baau1 kut3 daai6 bou3, soeng6 seoi2, fan2 leng5, saa1 tau4 gok3 tung4 daa2 gu2 leng5
At that time there was a District Office North and South, and District Office North covered Tai Po, Sheung Shui, Fanling, Sha Tau Kok, and Ta Kwu Ling.

ji4 ni1 dou6 ceot1 jin6 zo2 loeng5 go3 gam1 jat6 wui5 gong2 ge3 dei6 fong1, zau6 hai6 fan2 leng5 tung4 maai4 saa1 tau4 gok3
And here we see two places we will talk about today, namely Fanling and Sha Tau Kok.

ni1 go3 dou1 hai6 saa1 tau4 gok3 zi1 sin3 ge3 hei2 dim2 tung4 maai4 zung1 dim2
These places were also the starting and ending points of the Sha Tau Kok Branch Line.

ji4 gung1 cing4 zau6 hai2 jat1 gau2 jat1 jat1 nin4 sei3 jyut6 hoi1 ci2
Construction began in April 1911.

jau4 jyu1 hing1 gin3 gau2 gwong2 tit3 lou6 jing1 dyun6 ge3 si4 hau6, zung6 jau5 daai6 loeng6 ge3 gin3 zuk1 coi4 liu2 ho2 ji5 si2 jung6, so2 ji5 gin3 zuk1 gung1 cing4 zau6 ho2 ji5 hai2 tung4 nin4 sap6 ji6 jyut6 faai3 cuk1 jyun4 sing4
Because there were still a large amount of building materials available from the construction of the Kowloon-Canton Railway British Section, the construction project was quickly completed in December that same year.

ji4 fan2 leng5 zi3 sek6 cung1 aau3 ge3 lou6 sin3 zau6 seot1 sin1 tung1 ce1
The section from Fanling to Shek Chung Au was the first to open.

dong1 nin4 ge3 ce1 soeng1 hai6 mou5 tin1 faa1 baan2 ge3, so2 ji5 daa2 fung1 lok6 jyu5 ge3 si4 hau6 daap3 saa1 tau4 gok3 zi1 sin3 zau6 wui5 hou2 ngai4 him2
The train carriages at that time didn't have roofs, so it was very dangerous to ride the Sha Tau Kok Branch Line during typhoons and rain.

saa1 tau4 gok3 zi1 sin3 zau6 hai2 jat1 gau2 jat1 ji6 nin4 sei3 jyut6 jat1 jat6 cyun4 sin3 tung1 ce1
The Sha Tau Kok Branch Line fully opened on April 1, 1912.

jau4 fan2 leng5 heoi3 dou3 saa1 tau4 gok3 seoi1 jiu3 ng5 sap6 ng5 fan1 zung1, ji4 mui5 ging1 gwo3 jat1 go3 zaam6 ce1 fai3 zau6 seoi1 jiu3 ng5 sin1, daap3 saai3 cyun4 cing4 ge3 seoi1 jiu3 loeng5 hou4 zi2
It took 55 minutes to travel from Fanling to Sha Tau Kok, and the fare was five cents for each station passed, so the fare for the entire journey was 20 cents.

seon6 daai3 jat1 tai4, dong1 nin4 saa1 tau4 gok3 zaam6 zau6 hai2 ce1 ping4 gaai1
By the way, Sha Tau Kok Station at that time was on Car Park Street.

daai6 gaa1 jing1 goi1 dou1 m4 zi1 tiu4 gaai1 hai2 bin1 dou6, daan6 hai6 keoi5 fu6 gan6 zau6 jau5 ling6 ngoi6 jat1 tiu4 gaai1, ni1 tiu4 gaai1 zau6 gwong2 wai4 jan4 zi1, zau6 hai6 zung1 jing1 gaai1
Not all of you will know where that street is, but near it there is another street that many people will know, which is Chung Ying Street

ni1 go3 ce1 zaam6 zi2 hai6 lei4 bin1 ging2 jat1 loeng5 tiu4 gaai1
This station was only one or two streets away from the border.

gan1 geoi3 zi1 liu2 hin2 si6, jat1 nin4 zi1 noi6 jyu4 gwo2 dong1 nin4 lou6 sin3 bei2 gaau3 do1 jan4 daap3 ge3 waa2, lou6 sin3 ho2 ji5 jat1 nin4 jau5 luk6 zi3 baat3 maan6 jan4 sing4 daap3
The data indicates that, if the route was relatively busy in those days, it might serve 60,000 to 80,000 passengers a year.

jyu4 gwo2 dong1 nin4 lou6 sin3 bei2 gaau3 siu2 jan4 sing4 daap3, jat1 nin4 sam6 zi3 mou5 jat1 maan6 jan4 sing4 daap3
If the line had fewer passengers in those years, it might not even have 10,000 passengers a year.

so2 ji5 lou6 sin3 haak3 loeng6 hai6 fei1 soeng4 dung6 dong6, m4 ho2 ji5 tai2 sou3 zi6 jing4 jung4 ni1 tiu4 lou6 sin3 haak3 lau4 loeng6 hou2 m4 hou2
So the route's passenger volume was very volatile, and you can't describe the route's traffic as good or bad just by looking at the numbers.

gwo3 zo2 sap6 ji6 nin4 zi1 hau6, zing3 fu2 lok6 sat6 hing1 gin3 saa1 tau4 gok3 gung1 lou6, daan6 hai6 dong1 nin4 zung6 mei6 jau5 daa2 syun3 caak3 wai2 saa1 tau4 gok3 zi1 sin3
After 12 years, the government decided to build Sha Tau Kok Road, but at that time, there were still no plans to demolish the Sha Tau Kok Branch Line.

jau6 gwo3 zo2 saam1 nin4, saa1 tau4 gok3 gung1 lou6 tung1 ce1, ji4 dong1 nin4 ge3 haak3 lau4 loeng6 zau6 zi2 jau5 ji6 maan6 cat1 cin1 jan4, so2 ji5 gau2 tit3 guk6 zau6 jing6 wai4 ni1 tiu4 lou6 sin3 ji5 ging1 mou5 jam6 ho4 gaa3 zik6, so2 ji5 zau6 kyut3 ding6 caak3 se3 saa1 tau4 gok3 zi1 sin3
Three years after that, Sha Tau Kok Road opened to traffic, by which time the passenger volume was only 27,000 people, so the KCR believed the branch line no longer had any value, and they decided to dismantle the Sha Tau Kok Branch Line.

ji4 caak3 se3 go2 jat1 nin4, haak3 lau4 loeng6 zi2 jau5 ng5 cin1 gei2 jan4, daan6 hai6 jiu3 gei3 zyu6, lou6 sin3 hai6 hai2 sei3 jyut6 jat1 jat6 caak3 wai2, so2 ji5 ng5 cin1 gei2 jan4 m4 ho2 ji5 doi6 biu2 caak3 wai2 go2 jat1 nin4 ge3 haak3 lau4 loeng6
In the year of its demolition, the passenger volume was only a little over 5,000 people, but it must be remembered that the line was demolished on April 1st, so the figure of around 5,000 people cannot represent the passenger volume for the year of demolition.

ji4 ping4 gwan1 gai3 syun3 zi1 hau6, dong1 nin4 ge3 haak3 lau4 loeng6 jing1 goi1 wui5 hai2 jat1 maan6 sei3 cin1 zi3 jat1 maan6 baat3 cin1 jan4 zi1 gaan1, dou1 hai6 bei2 soeng6 jat1 nin4 siu2 zo2, so2 ji5 ho2 nang4 zan1 hai6 saa1 tau4 gok3 gung1 lou6, ling6 dou3 saa1 tau4 gok3 zi1 sin3 bei2 gaau3 siu2 jan4 sing4 daap3
After averaging, the passenger volume that year should have been between 14,000 and 18,000, which was less than the previous year, so it's possible that Sha Tau Kok Road indeed resulted in fewer people using the Sha Tau Kok Branch Line.

zeoi3 hau6 saa1 tau4 gok3 zi1 sin3 zau6 hai2 jat1 gau2 ji6 baat3 nin4 sei3 jyut6 jat1 jat6 caak3 wai2
Finally, the Sha Tau Kok Branch Line was demolished on April 1st, 1928.

In this episode, we will explore the origin of the name Hong Kong.

The origin of the place name Hong Kong can be said to have many different theories, and there is no definitive answer at the moment.

ngo5 dei6 wui5 gaai3 siu6 bei2 gaau3 zyu2 lau4 ge3 saam1 zung2 gong2 faat3:
We will introduce three of the more mainstream theories:

一、「香江」說
jat1, "hoeng1 gong1" syut3
One, the "Fragrant River" theory.

geoi3 gong2 hai2 bok6 fu4 lam4 jau5 jat1 tiu4 cing1 kai1 jau4 saan1 soeng6 lau4 ceot1 daai6 hoi2
It is said that in Pok Fu Lam, there was a clear stream flowing from the mountain into the sea.

seoi2 zat1 gam1 hoeng1 cing1 tim4, soeng1 cyun4 zau6 hai6 ji4 gaa1 ge3 buk6 bou3 waan1
The quality of the water was sweet and fragrant, and according to tradition it's at the present-day Waterfall Bay.

cing1 doi6 si4 kei4, ging1 gwo3 fu6 gan6 ge3 ngoi6 gwok3 soeng1 syun4 dou1 wui5 ting4 lau4 hai2 buk6 bou3 waan1 bei6 fung1 tung4 maai4 jam2 jung6 sik6 seoi2
During the Qing Dynasty, foreign merchant ships passing nearby would stop at Waterfall Bay to take shelter from the wind and obtain drinking water.

ji4 go2 tiu4 cing1 kai1 zau6 bei6 cing1 wai4 "hoeng1 gong1", ji4 jau4 cing1 kai1 lau4 ceot1 daai6 hoi2 ge3 gong2 hau2 zau6 cing1 wai4 "hoeng1 gong2"
That clear stream was called "Fragrant River" (Hong Gong), and the harbour where the stream flowed into the sea was called "Fragrant Harbour" (Hong Kong).

ji4 gong2 hei2 buk6 bou3 waan1, jyun4 loi4 keoi5 hai2 cing1 doi6 gaa1 hing3 nin4 gaan1 ji5 ging1 hai6 daa2 kaat1 sing3 dei6
Speaking of Waterfall Bay, it turns out it was already a popular scenic spot during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty (1796-1820).

dong1 nin4 "san1 ngon1 jyun6 zi3" syun2 ceot1 ge3 san1 ngon1 baat3 ging2 zi1 zung1, kei4 zung1 jat1 go3 zau6 hai6 wai6 jyu1 bok6 fu4 lam4 ge3 buk6 bou3 waan1 laa1!
Among the Eight Scenic Spots of Xin'an selected in the "Xin'an County Records" of that year, one of them was Waterfall Bay, located in Pok Fu Lam!

ji4 dong1 hoeng1 gong2 sing4 wai4 jing1 gwok3 zik6 man4 dei6 zi1 hau6, gong2 jing1 zing3 fu2 wai4 zo2 gaai2 kyut3 sik6 seoi2 gung1 jing3 man6 tai4, zau6 kyut3 ding6 zit6 ceoi2 buk6 bou3 waan1 ge3 seoi2 jyun4, bing6 hing1 gin3 bok6 fu4 lam4 seoi2 tong4
And when Hong Kong became a British colony, the Hong Kong British government, in order to solve the drinking water supply problem, decided to intercept the water source of Waterfall Bay and build Pok Fu Lam Reservoir.

zi6 ci2 buk6 bou3 waan1 ge3 seoi2 lau4 gaam2 joek6, zau6 mou5 ji5 cin4 gam2 zong3 gun1 laa1!
Since then, the water flow of Waterfall Bay has weakened and is no longer as spectacular as before!

ji6, "hoeng1 gu1" syut3
Two, the "Hoeng Gu" theory.

cing1 doi6 jau5 jat1 wai2 cyun4 syut3 kap1 ge3 neoi5 hoi2 dou6 hoeng1 gu1, jik6 hai6 ding2 ding2 daai6 ming4 zoeng1 bou2 zai2 ge3 cai1 zi2
During the Qing Dynasty, there was a legendary female pirate named Hoeng Gu (a.k.a. Ching Shih), who was also the wife of the renowned pirate Cheung Po Tsai.

hoeng1 gu1 so2 seot1 ling5 ge3 hoi2 dou6 gwan1 tyun4 "hung4 kei4 bong1",  hai6 dong1 si4 naam4 joeng2 hoi2 wik6 zung1 zeoi3 koeng4 daai6 ge3!
The pirate fleet led by Hoeng Gu, known as the "Red Flag Gang", was the most powerful in the South China Sea region at that time!

geoi3 man4 jau5 gan6 cin1 sau2 syun4 zek3, sau2 haa6 jau5 gan6 sei3 maan6 jan4, ping4 si4 coeng2 loek6 cing1 ting4 syun4 zek3 tung4 maai4 ngau1 zau1 mau6 jik6 soeng1 syun4, ling6 jan4 man4 fung1 song3 daam2
It is said that there were nearly a thousand ships and nearly 40,000 men under her command, regularly looting Qing Dynasty ships and European merchant ships, and making people terrified.

hoeng1 gu1 dong1 si4 ji5 hoeng1 gong2 dou2 zok3 wai4 gan1 geoi3 dei6, hoeng1 gong2 dou2 zau6 bei6 jan4 cing1 wai4 "hoeng1 gu1 dou2",  gaan2 cing1 wai4 "hoeng1 dou2", zoi3 maan6 maan2 jin2 bin3 sing4 "hoeng1 gong2"
"Hoeng Gu" used Hong Kong Island as her base at that time, so the island came to be known as "Hoeng Gu Island", shortened to "Hoeng Island", which slowly evolved into "Hong Kong".

saam, hoeng1 syu6 syut3
Three, the "Fragrant Tree" theory.

"hoeng1 syu6" syut3 hai6 bei2 gaau3 jau5 lik6 si2 gan1 geoi3 ge3 syut3 faat3
The "Fragrant Tree" theory is a more historically grounded theory.

gan1 geoi3 lik6 si2 man4 hin3, hoeng1 gong2 ni1 go3 dei6 meng4 zeoi3 zou2 hai6 ceot1 jin6 hai2 ming4 ciu4 maan6 lik6 nin4 gaan1 "jyut6 daai6 gei3" ge3 "gwong2 dung1 jyun4 hoi2 tou4" zi1 zung1
According to historical documents, the place name "Hong Kong" first appeared in the "Guangdong Coastal Map" in the "Grand Records of Guangdong" during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1573-1620).

ji4 dong1 si4 hoeng1 gong2 ge3 saa1 tin4 tung4 maai4 daai6 jyu4 saan1 sing6 caan2 jat1 zung2 giu3 “gun2 hoeng1” ge3 hoeng1 muk6 syu6
At that time, Sha Tin and Lantau Island in Hong Kong were rich in an incense wood tree called the agarwood.

keoi5 ge3 syu6 jik6 hai6 zai3 zok3 hoeng1 liu2 ge3 zan1 gwai3 coi4 liu2, fei1 soeng4 geoi6 soeng1 jip6 gaa3 zik6, so2 ji5 dong1 si4 gun2 hoeng1 mau6 jik6 sap6 fan1 faat3 daat6
It's sap was a valuable ingredient in the manufacture of perfume, with very high commercial value, so the trade in agarwood became highly developed during that time.

gun2 hoeng1 soeng1 ban2 wui5 sin1 wan6 sung3 dou3 zim1 saa1 zeoi2, jin4 hau6 zoi3 jung6 syun4 wan6 dou3 sek6 paai4 waan1 cyun4 fong3, zoi3 zyun2 daai6 syun4 wan6 dou3 gwong2 zau1
Agarwood products would first be transported to Tsim Sha Tsui and then transported by boat to Shek Pai Wan for storage, before being transferred on to larger ships bound for Guangzhou.

jau4 jyu1 sek6 paai4 waan1 hai6 wan6 syu1 hoeng1 muk6 ge3 zung6 jiu3 coeng4 so2, zau6 bei6 cing1 wai4 "hoeng1 gong2"
Because Shek Pai Wan was an important place for transporting fragrant incense wood, it was called "Hong Kong".

ji4 hai2 sek6 paai4 waan1 zau6 jau5 jat1 tiu4 ming4 wai6 hoeng1 gong2 cyun1 ge3 cyun1 lok6, bit6 cing1 hoeng1 gong2 wai4, zik1 hai6 ji4 gaa1 ge3 wong4 zuk1 haang1 gau6 wai4
And in Shek Pai Wan, there was a small village named Hong Kong Village, also known as Hong Kong Wai (walled village), which is now Wong Chuk Hang Kau Wai (old walled village).

hoeng1 gong2 cyun1 hai2 ming4 ciu4 gaa1 zing6 ji6 sap6 gau2 nin4, jik6 zik1 hai6 jat1 ng5 ng5 ling4 nin4 gin3 lap6
Hong Kong Village was established in the twenty-ninth year of the Jiajing reign in the Ming Dynasty, which means the year 1550 AD.

keoi5 go3 meng4 zing3 zing3 hai6 jan1 wai6 sek6 paai4 waan1 hai6 zyun2 wan6 gun2 hoeng1 ge3 gong2 hau2 ji4 ming6 ming4 ge3
Its name was derived precisely because Shek Pai Wan served as a port for trans-shipment of agarwood.

hai2 jat1 baat3 luk6 luk6 nin4 ge3 "san1 ngon1 jyun6 cyun4 tou4" zi1 zung1, jik6 jau5 gei3 zoi3 hoeng1 gong2 wai4 wai6 jyu1 wong4 zuk1 haang1 jat1 daai3
The "Xin’an County Map" of 1866 also recorded that Hong Kong Wai was located in the Wong Chuk Hang area.

dou3 hau6 loi4, sek6 paai4 waan1 hoeng1 gong2 cyun1 jat1 ming4 giu3 aa3 kwan4 ge3 jyu4 man4, daai3 ling5 cek3 cyu5 soeng5 ngon6 ge3 jing1 gwan1 heoi3 gong2 dou2 bak1 bou6
Later, a fisherwoman named Ah Kwan from Hong Kong Village in Shek Pai Wan led British troops landing at Stanley to the northern part of Hong Kong Island.

lou6 sin3 jau4 cek3 cyu5 hoi1 ci2, ging1 cin2 seoi2 waan1 dou6, hoeng1 dou2 dou6, wong4 zuk1 haang1 dou6, hoeng1 gong2 zai2 daai6 dou6, sek6 paai4 waan1 dou6 ji5 kap6 bok6 fu4 lam4 dou6 zi3 sai1 jing4 pun4
The route started from Stanley and went through what is now Repulse Bay Road, Island Road, Wong Chuk Hang Road, Aberdeen Main Road, Shek Pai Wan Road, and Pok Fu Lam Road through to Sai Ying Pun.

dong1 ging1 gwo3 hoeng1 gong2 cyun1 ge3 si4 hau6, jing1 gwan1 seon1 man6 go2 dou6 ge3 dei6 meng4
When passing by Hong Kong Village, the British troops asked for the name of the place.

aa3 kwan4 ji5 seoi2 soeng6 jan4 hau2 jam1 wui4 daap3 "hoeng1 gong2"
Ah Kwan replied in the Tanka dialect, "Hong Kong".

zau6 hai6 gam2, jing1 gwok3 jan4 ng6 zoeng1 cyun1 meng4 dong3 zou6 seng4 go3 hoeng1 gong2 dou2 ge3 meng4, "hoeng1 gong2" zau6 sing4 wai4 zo2 seng4 go3 dou2 ge3 meng4 laa1!
Just like that, the British mistakenly took the village name as the name of the entire Hong Kong Island, and "Hong Kong" became the name of the entire island!

ji5 soeng6 saam1 zung2 gwaan1 jyu1 hoeng1 gong2 ming4 cing1 jau4 loi4 ge3 syut3 faat3, bin1 jat1 zung2 nei5 gok3 dak1 zeoi3 ho2 seon3?
Of the above three theories about the origin of the name Hong Kong, which one do you think is the most credible?
