zau6 lei4 hoi1 laa3, tung4 si6 zou3 dou3 mou5 ting4 sau2
It's about to open, and our colleagues have been working non-stop.

The signposts are made of real wood so they can blend in with the natural environment.

hung4 faa1 leng5 ge3 dei6 jing4 ne1, kok3 sat6 hai6 gei2 jau5 tiu1 zin3 sing3 ge3
The terrain of Robin's Nest is indeed quite challenging.

gam2 ceoi4 zo2 di1 saan1 bo1 ge3 ce4 dou6 bei2 gaau3 ce4 zi1 ngoi6 ne1, bun2 san1 jik6 dou1 jau5 hou2 do1, aa6, haang4 saan1 jan4 si6 haang4 ceot1 lei4 ge3 zi1 zyu1 lou6 laa1, gam2 seoi2 tou2 lau4 sat1 ge3 cing4 fong3 ne1, kei4 sat6 dou1 gei2 jim4 zung6 ge3
Besides the steepness of the slopes, there are also many 'spider paths' carved out by hikers, leading to quite severe soil erosion.

lai6 jyu4 ngo5 dei6 ji4 gaa1 san1 hau6 ne1, hai2 hung4 faa1 zaai6 ni1 jat1 dyun6 lou6 ne1, hai2 mei6 zing2 hou2 zi1 cin4 ne1, kei4 sat6 go2 go3 laan6 ge3 cing4 dou6 ne1, hou2 sai1 lei6
For example, the section behind us here, at Hung Fa Chai, was in a very bad state before it was repaired.

gam2 tung4 maai4 ne1, hai2 aa3 gung1 gok3 go2 bin1 ne1, lok6 ce3 ge3 jat1 dyun6 lou6 ne1, bun2 san1 dou1 hou2 ce4 tung4 maai4 hou2 do1 fau4 sek6, gam2 jau5 jat1 ding6 hai6 ngai4 him2 ge3
Also, the downhill section towards A Kung Kok is very steep and has many loose rocks, which is definitely dangerous.

gam2 aa3, si1 fu2 cai3 hou2 tiu4 lou6 zi1 hau6 ne1, zau6 hou2 on1 cyun4 zo2, jik6 dou1 hou2 haang4 gwo3 laa1
After the experts repaired the path, it became much safer and easier to walk.

ngo5 dei6 zyu2 jiu3 ne1, dou1 hai6 jung6 tin1 jin4 ge3 coi4 liu2 ne1, heoi3 pou1 cit3 saan1 ging3
We mainly use natural materials to pave the trails.

gam2 joeng2 ne1, saan1 ging3 ne1, zau6 ho2 ji5 jung4 jap6 zi6 jin4, ni1 go3 jik6 dou1 hai6 ho2 ci4 zuk6 saan1 ging3 ge3 jat1 go3 zung6 jiu3 ge3 jyun4 sou3
This way, the trails can blend into nature, which is also an important element of building sustainable trails.

hei2 lou6 gang2 hai6 faa1 si4 gaan3 laa1, bun1 wan6 mat6 liu2 tung4 maai4 si1 gung1 ne1, dou1 jiu3 kaau3 jan4 sau2, jik6 dou1 hou2 haau2 si1 fu2 ge3 gung1 ngai6
Of course, it takes time to build paths, and the transportation of materials and construction depends on manpower, which also greatly tests the craftsmanship of our experts.

gam2 lai6 jyu4 cai3 muk6 kap1 gam2 laa1, kei4 sat6 jat1 jat6 ne1, cai3 dou3 gei2 sap6 kap1 ne1, ji5 ging1 syun3 hai6 faai3 gaa3 laa3
For example, when building wooden steps, building a few dozen steps in a day is already considered fast.

cai3 sek6 kap1 aa3, zung6 maa4 faan4, cai3 dou3 go2 gei2 kap1 ge3 ze1 aa3
It is even more troublesome to build stone steps, and only a few steps can be built at a time.

ngo5 dei6 di1 tung4 si6 ne1, ji5 ging1 hai6 mai2 hou2 mat6 sau2 gam2 joeng2 zou6 gaa3 laa3
Our colleagues are really working very hard.

muk6 cin4 ne1, bou6 fan6 ge3 gung1 zok3 ne1, jik6 dou1 jiu3 dang2 naap6 jap6 zo2 gaau1 je5 gung1 jyun2 zi1 hau6 ne1, jiu3 gai3 zuk6 ge3
Some of the current works will also need to continue after the area is officially incorporated into the country park.

tung4 si6 ne1, jik6 dou1 wui5 ding6 kei4 ne1, soeng5 saan1 heoi3 ceoi4 cou2 ge3
Our colleagues also regularly go up the mountain to clear weeds.

It can be said that the entire trail is built step by step, with painstaking efforts and the sweat of countless people.

Robin's Nest is located in a border area, where its natural habitat has been relatively less disturbed by human activity, giving it high ecological value.

After Robin's Nest is incorporated into the country park system, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) will be responsible for management, patrolling, and law enforcement, which will help conserve Robin's Nest's natural environment and preserve the natural landscape and cultural heritage.

Dialogue

aai1, ji4 gaa1 sik6 faan6 zan1 hai6 ging6 gwai3 aa3. jat1 go3 gam2 ge3 gai1 jik6 coeng2 zai2 faan6 gaa1 dung3 ning2 caa4 jiu3 seng4 luk6 sap6 man1 ne1. dim2 sik6 aa3?
Aiii... eating out is so expensive these days! A dish of chicken wings, sausage and rice with iced lemon tea costs a whole 60 bucks. How can anyone afford that?

hai2 hoeng1 gong2 sik6 faan6 gaan2 zik6 hai6 gaau1 zi3 soeng1 seoi3. ngo5 sin1 m4 wui5 gam3 ban6 aa3!
Eating in Hong Kong is basically like paying an IQ tax. I won't be so stupid.

haa2? gam2 nei5 ping4 si4 sik6 mat1 aa3?
Huh? So, what do you usually eat?

I go back to mainland China to eat now. It's so cheap, I save enough money each month to almost cover a down payment for a flat. If you're smart, you'll come with me sometime. Don't stay in Hong Kong acting like a fool!

hng6...
Hmm...

(Several Days Later)

dou1 waa6 gaa3 laa3, nei5 soeng5 lei4 sik6 jyun4 zi1 hau6 mai1 faan1 m4 dou2 zyun3 tau4 aa3
I told you so! Once you come up and eat, you won't be able to go back, right?

haa2? gam3 peng4 dou1 gaau1 zi3 soeng1 seoi3?
Huh? It's that cheap and you still call it an IQ tax?

You're already foolish for patronizing restaurants! I directly buy groceries in mainland China and cook myself. It's so cheap that the money I spend on one meal in Hong Kong can be used to cook twenty meals. If you're smart, learn how to cook. Don't be a fool by eating out!

Hmm...
hng6...

(Many Months Later)

ji2! ngo5 m4 hai6 fan3 gan2 ge3 me1?
Huh?! Wasn't I sleeping?

nei5 seng2 laa3?
Are you awake?

haa2? ni1 dou6 hai2 bin1 dou6 aa3?
What? Where is this?

ngo5 dei6 ji4 gaa1 hai2 nei5 go3 mung6 jap6 min6 laa3. ngo5 ji5 ging1 sei2 zo2. ngo5 hai6 faan1 lei4 bou3 mung6 wan2 nei5 gaa3
We are in your dream now. I am already dead. I came back to deliver a message to you in this dream.

haa2? sei2 zo2? nei5 dim2 sei2 gaa3?
Huh? Dead? How did you die?

aai1, go2 zan6 ngo5 nam2 nam2 haa5, hai2 daai6 luk6 maai5 sung3 gaan2 zik6 hai6 gaau1 zi3 soeng1 seoi3. ngo5 sin1 m4 wui5 gam3 ban6. jyu1 si6 zik6 zip3 heoi3 zung3 coi3 tung4 maai4 daa2 lip6. dim2 zi1 hai2 saan1 soeng6 bin6 m4 gau3 zek3 je5 zyu1 daa2 aa3. bei6 keoi5 daa2 sei2 zo2. dong1 ngo5 sei2 zo2 zi1 hau6, ngo5 sin1 faat3 jin6 kei4 sat6 jan4 jau4 ceot1 sai3 hoi1 ci2 kap1 ge3 mui5 daam6 hei3, jam2 ge3 mui5 daam6 seoi2, dou1 hai6 daai3 ngo5 dei6 jat1 bou6 jat1 bou6 gam2 heoi3 zip3 gan6 sei2 mong4. mui5 go3 jan4 ge3 ceot1 sai3 zau6 hai6 zeoi3 daai6 ge3 zi3 soeng1 seoi3. ngo5 dei6 dou1 hai6 zi3 soeng1 seoi3 ge3 nou4 dai6 aa3
Aiii... at that time I was thinking, buying groceries in mainland China is basically like paying an IQ tax. I wouldn't be so stupid. So I went directly to grow vegetables and hunt. Who knew I wasn't strong enough to fight a wild boar on the mountain? It killed me. After I died, I realized that from the moment people are born, every breath we take, every sip of water we drink, slowly leads us closer to death. Everyone's birth is the biggest IQ tax. We are all slaves to the IQ tax!

haa5?
Huh!

(...)

That’s all the time I have. I'll wait for you in hell! Oh! And also, over here, the prices in the underworld are incredibly high. Everything costs hundreds of millions to buy. I heard that on Jesus's side, heaven is free. Aiii... dying here is basically like paying an IQ tax!

haa5?
Huh!

The Central Market in Central, which had been closed for eighteen years, has recently been revitalized and reopened, transforming into a trendy landmark that combines distinctive restaurants and local brands, and it has been very popular since it has re-opened.

daai6 gaa1 jau5 mou5 nam2 gwo3 dim2 gaai2 soeng1 haa6 lam4 laap6 ge3 zung1 waan4 wui5 jau5 jat1 zo6 gaai1 si5 ne1?
Have you ever wondered why there would be a market in Central, which is full of many commercial buildings?

gam2 zau6 jiu3 jau4 baak3 gei2 nin4 cin4 ge3 lik6 si2 gong2 hei2 laa3
Well, that means going back to the history of over a hundred years ago.

The recently revitalized Central Market belongs to the fourth generation of market buildings, and the first generation of Central Market was actually completed as early as 1842.

In the early days of Hong Kong's establishment as a port, as the British army needed to build various infrastructure on Hong Kong Island, many Chinese craftsmen and food vendors came to Hong Kong Island.

To meet the needs of ordinary people, the first generation of the market came into being.

However, starting in the 1970s, with the completion of financial and commercial buildings in Central and the rise of supermarkets, the Central Market began to look out of place with the surrounding buildings, and its usage rate became lower and lower, eventually closing in 2003.

Later, in response to the calls for conservation from society, it was handed over to the Urban Renewal Authority for revitalization.

From the establishment of Hong Kong as a port to experiencing wars, economic take-off to the return of Hong Kong, the Central Market, after years of consultation and revitalization, has finally reappeared in public with a new look, once again becoming an important landmark in Central.

Hello everyone, today we are at Lin Ma Hang Village.

lin4 maa4 haang1 cyun1 hai6 wai6 jyu1 san1 gaai3 dung1 bak1 bin1 ging2
Lin Ma Hang Village is located on the northeastern border of the New Territories.

seng4 jat6 dou1 wui6 teng1 dou2 jau5 di1 jan4 waa6 nin4 cing1 jan4 bat1 zi1 tin1 gou1 dei6 hau5, ngo5 dei6 zau6 lei4 taam3 tou2 jat1 haa5 ni1 go3 man6 tai4
We often hear some people say that young people don't know the immensity of the world, so we're going to explore this question.

Hello daai6 gaa1 hou2, ngo5 hai6 aa3 Brian
Hello everyone, my name is Brian.

gam1 ci3 pei4 mou4 siu2 zi1 sik1 wui5 sin1 tung4 daai6 gaa1 gong2 haa6 gau3 ging2 go3 tin1 jau5 gei2 gou1
This time, on 'Shallow Knowledge,' we will first talk about just how high the sky is.

jiu3 daap3 tin1 hung1 jau5 gei2 gou1 ni1 go3 man6 tai4, zau6 bit1 sin1 jiu3 ding6 ji6 me1 hai6 tin1 hung1
To answer the question of how high the sky is, we must first define what the sky is.

sau2 sin1 gaa2 cit3 ding6 ji6, ngok6 gou1 tau4 tai2 dak1 gin3 ge3 zau6 hai6 tin1 hung1
First, let's make a hypothetical definition: whatever we can see when we look up is the sky.

dai6 jat1 zau6 hai6 laam4 tin1
First, there's the blue sky.

tin1 hung1 jau4 laam4 bin3 sing4 hak1 hai6 bing6 mou5 jat1 tiu4 hou2 ming4 hin2 ge3 gaai3 sin3
There isn't a very clear boundary between the sky changing from blue to black.

si6 sat6 soeng6 tin1 hung1 jik6 dou1 m4 hai6 laam4 sik1 ge3
In fact, the sky isn't actually blue.

coeng4 cing4 ho2 ji5 gam6 ni1 dou6 tai2 ngo5 ling6 jat1 tiu4 pin2 ge3 gaai3 siu6
For more details, you can click here to see another video I made that introduces this topic.

gaan2 daan1 lei4 gong2, laam4 tin1 hai6 jau4 hung1 hei3 lap1 zi2 zit3 se6 ji4 sing4
Simply put, the blue sky is formed by the refraction of air particles.

tin1 hung1 tai2 lok6 heoi3 jau4 laam4 zyun2 hak1 zau6 hai6 jan1 wai6 hung1 hei3 jyut6 lei4 jyut6 hei1 bok6
The sky appears to change from blue to black because the air becomes thinner and thinner.

ji4 daai6 joek3 baat3 sap6 percent ge3 hung1 hei3 dou1 cyun4 zoi6 jyu1 deoi3 lau4 cang4 tung4 maai4 ping4 lau4 cang4 ge3 cin4 dyun6, so2 ji5 laam4 tin1 ge3 gou1 dou6 daai6 joek3 zau6 hai6 sap6 saam1 zi3 dou3 sap6 ng5 gung1 lei5 zo2 jau6
And about eighty percent of the air exists in the lower part of the troposphere and the stratosphere, so the height of the blue sky is approximately thirteen to fifteen kilometres.

dai6 ji6 zau6 hai6 wan4 cang4
Second, there's the cloud layer.

dei6 kau4 soeng6 zeoi3 gou1 ge3 wan4 cang4 dou1 m4 wui5 ciu1 gwo3 sap6 baat3 gung1 lei5
The highest cloud layer on Earth doesn't exceed eighteen kilometres.

so2 jau5 ge3 tin1 hei3 jin6 zoeng6, daa2 fung1 lok6 jyu5 dou1 hai6 wan4 cang4 zi1 haa6 so2 faat3 sang1, so2 ji5 jung6 wan4 cang4 lei4 zou6 ding6 ji6, tin1 hung1 ge3 gou1 dou6 zau6 ho2 ji5 bei6 gaai3 ding6 wai6 sap6 baat3 gung1 lei5
All weather phenomena, like typhoons and rain, occur below the cloud layer, so using the cloud layer as a definition, the height of the sky can be defined as eighteen kilometres.

dai6 saam1 ge3 zau6 hai6 fei1 gei1
Third, there's the airplanes.

zyu3 ji3 hai6 fei1 gei1 ji4 m4 hai6 fo2 zin3 waak6 ze2 taai3 hung1 syun4
Note that we're talking about airplanes, not rockets or spacecraft.

hai2 jat1 gau2 cat1 cat1 nin4, sou1 lyun4 zau6 ji5 mai5 gaak3 ji6 sap6 ng5 zin3 dau3 gei1 cong3 haa6 zo2 jau5 si2 ji5 lai4 fei1 gei1 taam3 sok3 tin1 hung1 zeoi3 gou1 ge3 gei2 luk6, keoi5 lei4 dei6 min6 saam1 sap6 cat1 dim2 luk6 ng5 gung1 lei5 ,
In 1977, the Soviet Union set the record for the highest altitude reached by an airplane exploring the sky with a MiG-25 fighter jet, at a distance of 37.65 kilometres from the ground.

so2 ji5 jan4 leoi6 ji5 fei1 gei1 taam3 sok3 gwo3 zeoi3 gou1 ge3 tin1 hung1 zau6 hai6 saam1 sap6 cat1 dim2 luk6 ng5 gung1 lei5
So, the highest point in the sky that humans have explored with an airplane is 37.65 kilometres.

ni1 go3 gou1 dou6 hou4 mou4 ji4 man6 dou1 zung6 hai6 tin1 hung1
This altitude is undoubtedly still the sky.

ji4 dai6 sei3 zau6 hai6 daai6 hei3 cang4
And fourth, there's the atmosphere.

daai6 hei3 cang4 zeoi3 ngoi6 fan1 gaak3 dei6 kau4 tung4 taai3 hung1 ge3 saan3 jat6 cang4 bin1 jyun4, zau6 keoi5 lei4 dei6 min6 daai6 joek3 jat1 maan6 gung1 lei5
The outer edge of the exosphere, which separates Earth from outer space, is about ten thousand kilometres from the ground.

If we use this ultimate boundary between Earth and space as the definition, then the sky is ten thousand kilometres high.

Since the visible blue sky and white clouds are the sky, then similarly, the stars and moon that can be seen with the naked eye, I personally think these can also be defined as part of the sky.

so2 ji5 tin1 hung1 lei5 leon6 soeng6 hai6 mou4 bin1 mou4 zai3 mou4 haan6 gam3 jyun5
Therefore, the sky is theoretically boundless and infinitely far.

Especially on clear nights, apart from the moon and nearby planets, with the naked eye we can usually see the Andromeda Galaxy, which is 2.5 million light-years away.

As for the gamma-ray burst that occurred in the Boötes constellation in 2008 and lasted for thirty seconds, it broke the record for the farthest celestial phenomenon visible to the human naked eye, occurring at a distance of 7.5 billion light-years from Earth.

so2 ji5 on3 ziu3 toi4 tau4 mong6 tai2 dak1 gin3 ge3 zau6 hai6 tin1 hung1 ge3 ding6 ji6, kei4 sat6 zau6 hai6 ceoi2 kyut3 jyu1 go3 tin1 jau5 gei2 cing1 tung4 maai4 go2 go3 sing1 tai2 jin6 zoeng6 jau5 gei2 gwong1
So, according to the definition that whatever you can see when you look up is the sky, it all depends on how clear the sky is and how bright that celestial phenomenon is.

gam2 muk6 cin4 tin1 hung1 ge3 gou1 dou6 zau6 hai6 cat1 sap6 ng5 jik1 gwong1 nin4
So given this, the current height of the sky is 7.5 billion light-years.

In the end, exactly how high the sky is really depends on your perspective and point of view.

Those who tell young people they don't know the immensity of the world simply have a narrow view and their horizons are limited.
